The council has developed a document to describe the roles and responsibilities of members, the chair and the clerk to the council.
Council members are required to adhere to the code of conduct which lays out the standards of behaviour that are required.
Equality
Public sector organisations subject to the equality duty must, in the exercise of their functions, have due regard to the need to:
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
